From DailyTech: At a recent shareholders meeting, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata admitted that 3DS sales have gotten off to a slow start and that the lack of a solid software lineup is likely the reason. Nintendo's 3DS has hit more than a few rough patches since its release in March of this year. During the first week of its release, Nintendo sold 400,000 systems, but has had trouble keeping the sales momentum. Iwata said in the meeting that the new portable game system "continues to struggle," and believes that it would have sold better if the launch lineup had been better prepared. "We also must reflect on the fact that we were not able to launch Nintendo 3DS at a time when a sufficient number of strong software titles were ready," said Iwata. Having learned its lesson, Nintendo is taking every necessary precaution to ensure that the same thing doesn't happen to the Wii U. "In order to avoid the same thing from happening to the Wii U, we are considering details, such as what software is suitable for the launch, more carefully than ever before," said Iwata.
