AT&T Gets Official With Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Smartphone Lineup

From DailyTech: Microsoft is looking to make some big waves in the smartphone market with the latest incarnation of its Windows Phone mobile operating system. While Windows Phone 7 is currently lagging far behind market leaders Android and iOS in smartphone OS market share, Microsoft is hoping that Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango" and a partnership with Nokia will bolster its fortunes in the sector.

AT&T is onboard to help “spread the good word" courtesy of three new smartphones that will feature Mango. The first new model is the Samsung Focus S. The smartphone features a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.4GHz processor, 1.3mp front-facing camera, and an 8mp rear camera. The Focus S just 8.55mm thick.

The next new Mango entry from AT&T also comes courtesy of Samsung. The Focus Flash makes uses of a 3.7" Super AMOLED display. Like the Focus S, it features a 1.4GHz processor, but it makes do with a 5mp rear camera. AT&T doesn't mention the resolution of the front-facing camera, so we're guessing that it's lower than the 1.3mp of the Focus S (or else they would have mentioned it).

The last new model is the HTC Titan. The new smartphone lives up to its name with a massive 4.7" display -- it also packs a 1.5GHz processor onboard along with an 8mp rear camera with dual-LED flash.

All three new phones operate on AT&T's "4G" wireless network and will be available this fall.

“Our customers love Windows Phones which is why we’ve sold more of them than anyone else,” said Jeff Bradley, SVP of Devices for AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “We’re taking our leadership to a whole new level by getting the Mango update to all existing customers and rolling out awesome new Windows Phones.”
