Corsair Launches New Neutron GTX SSDs with Exclusive Controller

From DailyTech: Corsair over they years has broadened its lineup of SSDs offered to the public, and this week it unveiled fresh offerings at Computex 2012. The new SSDs are fourth-generation devices falling into the flagship Neutron GTX series.

The new SSDs are the first in the industry to feature the LM87800 6Gb/s SSD controller from Link_A_Media Devices (LAMD). The Neutron GTX SSDs are offered in capacities of 120 GB, 240 GB, and 480 GB. They use toggle NAND flash memory that promises up to 90,000 random read and write operations per second. The SSDs also promise fast sequential speeds with up to 555 MB/s read speeds and up to 500 MB/s write speeds for the GTX series.

"The Neutron Series SSDs, a strategic collaboration between Corsair and LAMD, reflects the shared commitment to performance, quality, and reliability ingrained in our companies," said Thi La, Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair. "Together we've raised the standard for SSDs, and we have more exciting products on the way."

Performance for the standard Neutron series drives, offered in 120 GB and 240 GB capacities, are up to 90,000 random read operations per second and up to 85,000 random write operations per second. Sequential read speeds are up to 555 MB/s with sequential writes of up to 370 MB/s. Corsair also notes that the Neutron series SSDs are able to maintain the fast read and write speeds with both compressed and non-compressible data types.
