Microsoft Now Provides Free Covers with Surface Tablets

From X-bit Labs: As some of Microsoft Corp.’s partners decrease pricing of their Windows RT-based products, Microsoft Corp. is taking a different approach in a bid to make Surface RT media tablet more competitive. From now on the world’s largest software developer will bundle a cover, or a keyboard cover with every Surface RT slate.

For a limited time beginning May 31st, customers who purchase Microsoft Surface RT receive a free touch cover, touch cover limited edition, or type cover with the purchase of a Surface RT. Touch and type cover not only protects and personalizes Surface RT, but also lets users get real work done thanks to fully-fledged keyboard. Touch cover usually costs $119, which means that customers who get their Surface RT now will save a rather significant sum of money.

Microsoft also has an exciting special offer for our customers in Europe. People who purchase a Surface RT from now until June 30, 2013 receive a free cover of their choice, including Type and Touch in black, white, or cyan.

Microsoft Surface with Windows RT operating system features 10.6" screen with 1366*768 resolution. The media tablets are based on Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core system-on-chip with advanced graphics adapter and are equipped with 2GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB NAND flash storage, two 720p HD cameras, stereo speakers and two microphones, will feature ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and compass. The slates come with 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity and feature full-size USB 2.0, microSDXC card slot, headset jack, HD video out port and cover port.
