From DailyTech: Photography giant Canon has announced the addition of a new and very powerful D-SLR camera to its line called the EOS 70D. The new 70D has a new Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus system that is able to instantly and precisely focus on video as well as still images. The camera also features an all-new 20.2-megapixel APS-C Canon CMOS sensor. Canon also fits the camera with its DIGIC 5+ Image Processor. The new autofocus system uses phase-detection technology on the camera's image sensor plane allowing users to shoot video using the D-SLR camera at close to the quality of video shot with a traditional camcorder (the 70D can record full HD resolution video at up to 30 FPS with stereo sound). The Dual Pixel CMOS AF system allows the camera to perform still imaging and phase detection autofocus simultaneously on each pixel. "The new EOS 70D Digital SLR camera is a game-changing D-SLR model that incorporates advanced features for high-quality still and video capture and intuitive operation that allows photographers to evolve their creative vision from shooting still images to shooting moving images," said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A. "This camera's outstanding image quality combined with built-in wireless technology and popular creative functions and filters makes it easy to turn photos into works of art and share them immediately." The camera has an integrated wireless transmitter allowing users multiple connectivity options for sharing images. The wireless transmitter can be used with the EOS Remote app available for Android and Apple devices. The app allows users to wirelessly transfer photo and video from the camera to their mobile device. The app can also control aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings. The camera has an ISO range of 100-12,800 and can be expanded to 25,600. The camera is also capable of shooting high-speed bursts at up to seven frames per second while using a 19-point cross-type autofocusing system. That means you can capture clear action even if it's moving fast. The 70D is set to launch in September at an MSRP of $1199 for the body alone. Shoppers will also be able to by the body bundled with an EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens $1349. Users preferring 18-100 35mm lens can get a bundle for $1549. View: Article @ Source Site |
