Intel Quietly Reveals 20nm NAND Flash-Based Solid-State Drives 530-Series

From X-bit Labs: Intel Corp. announced on Wednesday the new solid-state drive 530-series, a new generation of SSDs aimed at various types of client PCs, including desktops, workstations, ultrabooks and other. The new solid-state drives are based on 20nm NAND flash memory and provide rather high levels of performance. Intel 530-series SSDs will come in different form-factors.

To meet a variety of PC applications, Intel 530-series solid-state drives are available in three form factors: M.2, mSATA and 2.5”. The drives will be available in 80GB, 120GB, 180GB, 240GB, 360GB and 480GB capacities. The new SSDs provide maximum sequential read speed of up to 540MB/s and sequential write speed of up to 490MB/s. Intel declares 41K random read IOPS and 80K random write IOPS for the new drives.

Intel SSD 530-series drives are based on Intel’s latest multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory as well as one of the latest LSI SandForce SF2000-series controllers. In addition to the strong performance gains, Intel SSD 530-series introduces new low power modes with cell phone-like standby battery life.

In addition to the power, space savings, reliability, and peace of mind, the Intel SSD 530 Series is supported with Intel’s outstanding warranty and customer support.
