Google Live Transcribe Will Tell You About Dog Barks, Door Knocks

From PC Mag: In addition to transcribing speech to text on your screen in real time, Google's Live Transcribe app will soon tell you when a dog is barking, someone is whistling, or knocking on the door.

This new feature launches next month, along with the ability to copy and save transcripts generated by Live Transcribe.

Introduced in February, the Live Transcribe app is designed to help individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing participate in conversations. It's free to download in the Google Play store on Android devices with 5.0 Lollipop and above. It's also pre-installed on the Pixel 3; enable it in the phone's Accessibility settings.

When the update arrives next month, Live Transcribe will show "sound events" like dog barks and whistles in the bottom-left corner of the app.
