Acer Debuts a 360Hz Gaming Monitor, Predator Laptop and Desktop Revisions

From PC Mag: Acer today lifted the lid on sweeping updates to its gaming-PC and peripherals lineup, announcing design and component refreshes for multiple laptop, desktop, and monitor products across its Predator and Nitro lines. The addition of 10th Generation Intel processors is the main through-line in these PC updates, but additional GPU, feature, and design updates slide in alongside the new silicon. Also on offer: new advanced gaming monitors, and even a massage chair, so read on for the latest in Predator and Nitro.

Thanks to its unique slide-out keyboard, the high-end Predator Helios 700 is one of the most distinctive laptops we've reviewed in recent years, and it’s being refreshed with some powerful updates. The signature HyperDrift keyboard remains (it moves forward, toward the user, to allow for enhanced thermal performance inside the laptop), while new CPU and GPU options are the focus here.

In particular, fresh 10th Generation Intel CPUs will be available in the Helios 700, including the more mainstream Core i7-10875H and the overclockable Core i9-10980HK. (Both are eight-core/16-thread processors.) Nvidia’s mobile GeForce RTX Super GPUs are also a key addition: The GeForce RTX 2070 Super and the RTX 2080 Super are your graphics choices for this laptop.

Moving on to the Triton family, the Triton 300 is the more budget-friendly sibling of the Acer Predator Triton 500, which we rated highly in a recent review at the link. It, too, will now offer 10th Generation Intel processors—in fact, it will offer the same CPU and GPU options as the new Helios 300.
