EA Stops Selling 5 Need for Speed Games

From PC Mag: EA has announced that five of its older Need for Speed titles have been pulled from sale both on PC and consoles before their online servers shut down in August.

As GI.biz reports, the titles in question are Need for Speed Carbon (2006), Need for Speed Undercover (2008), Need for Speed Shift (2009), Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed (2011), and Need for Speed The Run (2011). The decision to stop selling these games comes ahead of their online servers going dark on Aug. 31. Until then, you can continue to enjoy playing online, but after that they will be offline-only experiences.

As for why EA is ending support and not selling these five titles anymore, a post on Reddit explains, "The development teams and operational staff have put a lot of time and passion into the development, creation, release and upkeep of the games over the years, and we love to see you play. But the number of players has come to a point where it's no longer feasible to continue the work behind the scenes."
