New Moto G Stylus Looks a Lot Like the Old Moto G Stylus

From PC Mag: Motorola today announced the newest addition to its affordable G series, the 2022 Moto G Stylus. The move is likely to leave many Motorola fans scratching their heads, since the company typically announces the bulk of its budget lineup just ahead of Mobile World Congress, which is currently scheduled for late February.

To make things even more confusing, the new G Stylus isn’t even the first 2022 G-series phone. That honor goes to the 2022 Moto G Power, which was released in 2021.

For the most part, there are very few differences between the 2022 Moto G Stylus and its predecessor. While that’s not a bad thing, we found the 2021 model to be underwhelming. Placed side by side, both have the same dimensions, and the new G Stylus weighs just a tenth of an ounce more than last year’s model. It’s available in blue or pink for 2022.

On the front there’s a 6.8-inch, 1,080-by-2,400-pixel hole-punch display. The major change for 2022 is that Motorola bumped up the refresh rate to 90Hz.

Surprisingly, the Moto G Stylus’ marquee feature appears unchanged. While Motorola ships software updates throughout the year to improve overall experience, there was no mention of new features for the stylus or even reduced latency thanks to the 90Hz display.
