OnePlus Nord N300 5G Ships With Rapid Charger for Under $230

From PC Mag: OnePlus' affordable Nord series of smartphones has struck a chord with US buyers, who've picked up millions of the devices since they first went on sale. OnePlus hopes its latest offering, the OnePlus Nord N300 5G, a follow up to the N200 5G, finds similar success. The phone packs modern must-haves such as 5G connectivity, a fast 90Hz display, and rapid charging—with the charger in the box—all for well under $250.

One of the primary drivers of smartphone purchases is the display. If the display doesn't stand out, consumers will select a phone with one that does. OnePlus is aiming high for the Nord N300 5G, which features a 6.56-inch screen with a high color gamut and HD+ resolution. Notably, the phone supports a 90Hz refresh rate panel. Most devices in this price range still ship with 60Hz displays. The faster screen will give Nord N300 buyers a smoother user interface experience.

In order to keep the price relatively low, OnePlus opted for a MediaTek Dimenstiy 810 processor. This chip was made with a 6nm process and features a mix of Arm Cortex A76 performance cores at speeds up to 2.4GHz as well as A55 efficiency cores to balance high-power and low-power tasks. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and ships with 64GB of internal storage, which is on par for this price range; the phone supports microSD cards up to 1TB.

The Nord N300 5G will be one of the fastest-charging phones available in the US for the price. OnePlus gave the phone a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging via OnePlus' proprietary SuperVOOC technology. OnePlus is taking things one step further by actually shipping the 33W charger in the box. Today's most expensive devices have left the charger behind. OnePlus did not provide any guidance on just how rapidly this charger will power up the N300 5G, but you can be sure it'll be fairly quick. To put this into perspective, Apple's iPhone 14 Pro smartphones charge at a maximum of 30W—and you have to pay extra for the charger.
