CES 2023: LG's Wireless OLED M3 TV Ditches Cables Completely

From PC Mag: LG announced several OLED TVs(Opens in a new window) at CES 2023, but the 97-inch LG Signature OLED M stands out from the rest by eliminating cable clutter with a design that removes the need for cables entirely.

The LG OLED M3 has beautiful picture quality, fantastic sound, and a sleek design that will look good in any room. But the real trick it offers is a cable-free design thanks to LG's new Zero Connect technology, which broadcasts HDMI-quality signal up to 30 feet. Aside from the power cord, the TV is cable-free.

The new wireless TV uses a built-in receiver in the screen, paired with the LG Zero Connect box which wirelessly transmits a 120Hz 4K video signal along with multiple audio formats including Dolby Atmos.

LG uses proprietary wireless technology in the Zero Connect box and didn't share many technical details during our preview session with the M3, but reps did specify that it doesn't use the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands employed by Wi-Fi and most consumer technology. Instead, Zero Connect uses a proprietary standard, which LG claims offers three times the speed of Wi-Fi 6. With a 30-foot range, you can set up your home theater equipment like Blu-ray players, game consoles, or cable TV set-top box on one side of a room, with the TV mounted elsewhere.
