NASA Is Launching a Streaming Service

From PC Mag: NASA is set to launch an on-demand streaming service, as well as upgrade its app and revamp its websites to allow easier access to the agency's content.

"Our vision is to inspire humanity through a unified, world-class NASA web experience," says Jeff Seaton, NASA's chief information officer. To achieve that, both nasa.gov(Opens in a new window) and science.nasa.gov(Opens in a new window) are being updated to share a common search engine and navigation system. This will take the form of a beta site updated on a rolling basis over the coming months.

Later this year, the NASA app will be upgraded in order to support the launch of a new NASA streaming service called NASA+(Opens in a new window). The ad-supported service will allow access to the agency's "Emmy Award-winning live coverage and views into NASA’s missions through collections of original video series, including a handful of new series launching with the streaming service."
