RX 7800 XT? AMD Tips More Radeon Graphics Cards Coming Soon

From PC World: It took a while, but new midrange PC graphics cards from AMD are on the horizon. In an earnings call on Tuesday, CEO Lisa Su said the products before the end of September.

“We are on track to further expand our RDNA 3 GPU offerings with the launch of new enthusiast-class Radeon 7000 series cards in the third quarter,” she said.

Back in December, AMD sold its first products in the Radeon 7000 series with the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT, higher-end cards that cost around $1,000 and $900, respectively.

In May, the company then addressed the entry-level market by releasing the Radeon RX 7600, which can start at $269. However, AMD has been oddly quiet in the midrange market, even as rival Nvidia has released its own competing products, such as the RTX 4060 Ti.

AMD may have been holding off to help retailers clear out existing GPU inventory amid a slowdown in PC sales. But it now looks like Team Red is finally ready to release the company’s midrange cards, possibly the Radeon RX 7800 and 7700 series.

Still, AMD will need to price the products appropriately if it wants to attract buyers. The major complaint about the current GPU generation has been the high prices and lack of performance gains over the previous generation. It’s likely why sales for Nvidia’s own GPUs have taken a sharp dive in recent quarters.
