From PC Mag: Spotify is lifting restrictions on lyrics for free accounts less than a year after the music-streaming service capped users at three songs per month.
As Engadget reports, the change may take some time to show up as Spotify plans a slow rollout.
“At Spotify, we’re always testing and iterating. This means availability of our features can vary across tiers and between markets and devices," a Spotify spokesperson says. "Over the coming weeks, we’ll be expanding Lyrics availability for Spotify Free users so more people can enjoy viewing more lyrics, globally.”
Spotify initially tested putting lyrics behind a paywall last fall before making it official earlier this year. That came just a few months after a price increase so users were hit with a double whammy: Lyrics became a premium feature and premium got more expensive. Spotify increased its prices again in June.
