From PC Mag: Instagram will now let you schedule direct messages (DMs) on the app to be sent at a later time.
The new feature was spotted on the app and then shared on Threads over the weekend. Meta later confirmed to TechCrunch that the feature is indeed rolling out to all users worldwide.
To schedule a DM, just type out the message and hold down the blue "Send" button. Then, choose your desired date and time and let Instagram do the rest. You can schedule multiple messages for an account or chat group. The time zone will be based on your device's settings, and you can currently schedule a message up to 29 days in advance.
To view your queued messages, open a conversation and tap the new "scheduled messages" tab at the bottom. While testing, we found that Instagram doesn't yet offer the option to edit a scheduled text. However, you can tap and hold a scheduled text to send it immediately, copy it, or delete it.
