Alienware’s next 1440p OLED gaming monitor will be its cheapest yet

From PC World: Slowly but surely, OLED monitors are dropping down to attainable prices. Dell and Alienware consistently deliver some of the best prices in the category, and Alienware’s new 27-inch 1440p OLED is the cheapest yet. The new design debuts this summer with a price of just $549.99.

That’s an amazing price for an OLED monitor, especially with its 280Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. The Alienware AW2725D gives you the usual gaming goodies like G-Sync and FreeSync compatibility, and the “sweet spot” 1440p resolution that’s extremely popular at the moment. Alienware is using a new stand design and some updated aesthetics, too. Other technical details will have to wait for the “Summer 2025” release date in North America.

There are a couple of other OLED announcements coming in hot, too. Alienware’s popular 34-inch ultrawide is getting an update with the new AW3425DW model. This version bumps the speed up to 240Hz while keeping the 3440×1440 resolution, but it also gets a USB-C port that’s unfortunately restricted to 15 watts of charging. That means this still won’t be the ideal one-cable companion for gaming laptops, though with a launch price of $799.99, I think a lot of PC gamers will be willing to overlook that. This one launches on April 29, 2025.

For those who want an upgraded 4K screen at a smaller size, Alienware is debuting the 27-inch AW2725Q. This is essentially a shrunken-down version of the excellent 32-inch OLED that debuted last year. It can handle 240Hz of refresh and 0.03ms of response time at that full 3840×2160 resolution, plus it has e-ARC compatibility on the HDMI 2.1 ports, making it an excellent addition to any media-focused desktop setup. Sadly, it’s still limited to just 15 watts on its single USB-C port. It’s on sale now for $899.99, which is hefty in Alienware’s lineup but still fairly affordable in terms of 4K OLED monitors across the board.
