From Forbes: Instagram has announced a new feature called Blend, which creates a custom, invite-only Reels feed for you and your friends. You can invite a friend or group chat to create a Blend. Once accepted, Instagram will show you a custom Reels feed that is made out of suggestions for people in the group. It can also be created for a one-on-one conversation.
Instagram Blend is a shared feed of Reels that combines recommendations you and your friends might like. It is for those who are tired of tapping the screen more than three times to share a reel with their friends. It can be accessed within the chat by tapping on a new two-emoji-hugging icon (the Blend icon). Everyone in the DM group has to opt in to participate.
Once the invite is accepted, Instagram starts recommending Reels for both users as part of an ongoing feed, using the service’s algorithm. These recommendations are said to be unique to Blend members and are based on their activity on the platform.
