From EETimes: The Indian government has approved four new semiconductor manufacturing projects under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), across three states with a total outlay of $550 million (Indian ₹4,594 crore).
The Union Cabinet cleared proposals spread across Odisha, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh from SiCSem, Continental Device India Ltd. (CDIL), 3D Glass Solutions Inc., and Advanced System in Package (ASIP) Technologies.
According to a government press note, the projects are expected to create more than 2,000 skilled jobs, along with many indirect employment opportunities. With this round of approvals, the total number of ISM-backed projects rises to 10, representing $19.15 billion in cumulative investment across six states.
