From PC World: Mozilla’s Firefox web browser is slated for a comprehensive facelift, according to an exclusive sneak peek by web developer Sören Hentzschel (machine translated). Mozilla has reportedly begun work on a major redesign of their web browser’s user interface.
The new design is codenamed “Nova” and will be characterized by a focus on “strong curves.” The address bar, the tabs, the sidebar launcher, and content areas in the browser will have a new rounded look.
Nova will also add some fluid elements to Firefox, and it appears that the browser will adjust its color depending on the background image on your desktop. Mozilla will also be leaning into subtle gradients, with a “noticeable tendency towards violet.”
The Nova redesign is still in early stages with no known release date, so it’ll be a while before it reaches a browser near you. You can follow the work on the new user interface in Bugzilla.
