From X-bit Labs: A Federal District Court judge told a hearing on Friday that he will likely rule for chip maker Micron and against Rambus in a controversial patent case. This will be another ruling against Rambus in less than a month. However, the ruling will not extend to other companies in a legal battle against technology developer Rambus. U.S. District Court Judge Ronald Whyte said he would issue a ruling in Rambus-Micron patent infringement case on Monday or Tuesday, reports Reuters news-agency. Early in January Sue L. Robinson, a judge from the U.S. District Court of Delaware, determined that Rambus executed its document retention policy during a time when it anticipated litigation. The court found that the patent infringement matter with Micron Technology has found that Rambus cannot pursue its claims against Micron due to spoliation. Judge Robinson ruled in Wilmington, Delaware, that Rambus had destroyed documents, impugning “the very integrity of the litigation process”. As a result, she threw out Rambus' patent claims against Micron and barred it from collecting money. View: Article @ Source Site |
