Page 4 - Benchmark: ATTO Disk Benchmark

About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next are our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here. As far as the Silicon Motion SM2264 controller on the Legend 960 is concerned, well, here are our results. The ADATA Legend 960 1TB peaked at 6970MB/s read and 6220MB/s write. Under the read curve, it delivered solid speeds, well ahead of the XPG Gammix S70 Blade 1TB practically across the range, but remained a decent margin behind Kingston FURY Renegade 1TB until 512K. The much cheaper Crucial P3 Plus 1TB was the fastest up to 512K. Under the write curve, the ADATA Legend 960 1TB continued to deliver nearly unbeatable performance across the range, where it was faster than any other compared drive with the exception of 4K to 64K, where the WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe SSD 1TB proved its excellence. The Legend 960 had the highest tested peak write speed ever recorded in this benchmark here at APH Networks though. Overall, the ADATA Legend 960 1TB's performance is excellent, thanks to the fast PCIe 4.0 interface, powerful controller, and optimized firmware.
