About HD Tune Pro 5.70

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk / SSD utility with many functions. It can be used to measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status (S.M.A.R.T.), securely erase all data and much more.

HD Tune Pro is more of a drag race than an indicator of real-life performance, but it provides a good storage performance reference when comparing SSDs with the same controller. HD Tune does not generate any fancy independent graph outputs, so I took a screenshot of the program. For the most part, we have a flat read curve from the ADATA SE920 1TB, which is a positive sign. Once again, we have three graphs for USB4 via Thunderbolt 4, USB4 with write caching enabled, and USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. Its average 1082.8MB/s was again the fastest drive we have seen yet. Over USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, we had an average of 612.1MB/s, which was faster than both the ADATA Elite SE880 1TB and Western Digital P50 Game Drive SSD 1TB, which had results of 608.5MB/s and 588.7MB/s, respectively. At the end of the day, HD Tune may not be the best way to compare solid state drives, but the results provide a different insight from the other tests.
