ASUS ROG Strix Go Core Moonlight White Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Does the ASUS ROG Strix Go Core Moonlight White have the quality to back up its sleek looks? To start with, this gaming headset is solidly built with PU leather and strong steel arms. No creaking can be heard when applying pressure to them, which is a good sign. The PU leather on the earcups and headband is very comfortable through long periods of usage. Adding to the fact it weighs only 252g, there is a lot to like about the ROG Strix Go Core Moonlight White. There may not be any RGB LED lighting, but the headset still looks clean and slick thanks to the white and grey color scheme. The fixed 1.2m cord is reasonably long and flexible enough to use. The inclusion of a 1.2m Y-split cable is also very nice for users who have devices with separate headphone and microphone jacks that at a distance like your desktop PC. When it came to sound quality, the Go Core Moonlight White has a V-shaped sound signature typical of gaming headphones. The headset proved to be good for gaming in my tests. Even for music, the Go Core Moonlight White was surprisingly easy to live with. The microphone works well enough for casual voice communications. When it comes to improvements, one major one is to improve the passive noise blocking, as there is surprisingly none on this headset even though they are closed-back. This required me to constantly dial up the volume, which is not great. Braided cables are also preferred compared to the rubber coated ones. At press time, the ASUS ROG Strix Go Core Moonlight White can be found for $80 USD. All things considered, I would say this is a fair price for this mostly capable gaming headset.
