AVerMedia Elite Go GC313Pro Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Is the AVerMedia Elite Go GC313Pro3 worth the upgrade over the Core Go GC313? Starting with the similarities, the Elite Go is the same size as the Core Go, and both are great for on-the-go use due to their compact size, reasonable weight, universal AC input, and included adapters for UK and EU wall outlets in addition to the default US plug. Both can charge up to three devices at once at the same charging efficiency. For the docking functionalities, both the peripheral connection to the USB Type-A port and the external display connection through the HDMI port worked perfectly. The display connection was as smooth and consistent as the 4K 60Hz passthrough would allow, while the peripherals worked as if it was directly connected to the device. AVerMedia has armed the charger with just as many circuit protections as the Core Go. Temperature should also not be much of an issue due to the GaN transistors being quite efficient. Moving on to the exclusive feature of the Elite Go, the video capturing capability and quality on it is great. It works well for capturing gameplay on handheld gaming devices at up to 1080p 60Hz. It would be nice if it could record the higher resolutions and frame rates that more powerful handheld gaming devices could handle, but considering the price, I think this limitation is reasonable. Like the Core Go, another key area of improvement would be to include support for PPS with PD 3.0, since there are many wall chargers with similar charging capabilities that have it. Currently at press time, the Elite Go is on sale for $120. Considering the Elite Go is only $30 more than the Core Go at the time of this review, I would say it is well worth the upgrade to get the extra video capturing capability if that were a feature you would use. Overall, the AVerMedia Elite Go GC313Pro is a great upgrade over the Core Go GC313, being a powerful wall charger, good capture card, and small docking station.
