On a random summer day, I was using my air fryer and decided I wanted to cook my dinner in a small appliance. My girlfriend’s family gifted this gift to me a couple of Christmases back, and I enjoyed it as a fast way to heat up items. This is especially true with reheating previously fried food items, as the air fryer maintains a bit more crispiness than an oven. Unfortunately, it has also meant I have bought more frozen foods since owning one, which is not necessarily a healthy choice. However, as I was sliding three raw chicken thighs into the tabletop heater, I noticed the fan did not turn on when I expected it to. Taking a closer look, it seemed as if the air fryer had stopped working. I was a bit sad, especially as it was genuinely a useful appliance. As I write, I am wondering if I should get a new one or just return to the fry-less life. It was truly versatile and flexible for convenient cooking. In a similar vein, today, we have a new microphone and arm set in the AVerMedia VERSATI go AM310G2 and FLEXI go BA311L. These may not be the catchiest names, but this microphone and boom arm is meant to offer VERSATI-lity and FLEXI-bility too, as both products are useful for more than just their name implies. How do these products show their capabilities in many ways? Let us read on to find out!
Today's review unit of the AVerMedia VERSATI go AM310G2 and FLEXI go BA311L arrived from their offices out in San Jose, California. Traveling with UPS and their Standard shipping service, this box arrived in good condition, with only a few bumps and bruises in the corners. As you can see from the outside of the box, AVerMedia has sent both products in a single corrugated cardboard box. This arrived at our APH Networks location here in Calgary, Alberta. Inside, AVerMedia packed the box full of packing paper to prevent damage to the products.
Both AVerMedia products have a remarkably similar color scheme and box design. The top has the company's logo, followed by the respective product name on the right side. A smaller line shows the model number above the name. The tagline on the FLEXI go BA311L is "Not Just A Mic Arm", while the VERSATI go AM310G2 says "I (Heart) My Voice" with a symbol for the heart. I may not love my voice, but hopefully the microphone will make it sound a bit better, haha. Otherwise, the bottom of both boxes shows some key features. For the microphone arm, it has a 360-degree multi-angle head, adjustable height positioning, and a maximum 1.5kg load capability. For the mic, it offers high quality audio recording, one button muting, and audio playback. In the middle of the box, we have the products shown in a scaled down image. Around the back, we have more features and specifications of the products.
If I could make one suggestion, I want AVerMedia to use more logical names for their products. I am not sure why we have three different monikers composed of letters and numbers for each product and I would like to see something more coherent.

When you open the retail containers, you will see AVerMedia has packaged both of their products in the same way. The microphone and its arm are in a large foam shell, with cutouts for the products and the accompanying accessories. Everything in the VERSATI go AM310G2 box is in separate plastic bags to prevent surface scratches. These accessories include a swivel tripod mount, tripod, 2m USB Type-C to Type-A cable, 5/8" to 1/4" adapter, and manual. The arm is on its own with another small bag holding some of its accessories. These include a 1/4" to 5/8" thread adapter, two hook and loop straps, and a quick start guide. The manufacturer has packaged and protected everything well, so let us take a closer look at the products themselves.
