When be quiet! sent us their mice, I expected a solid experience just based on their reputation, and the Dark Perk Ergo lives up to these expectations. From a physical design standpoint, the Dark Perk Ergo has a clean aesthetic. This is an ultralight 55g, right-handed, easy to hold body with a favorable surface to grip and great structural integrity. Buttons are easily accessible and nice to press. I appreciate the small but significant things that have been implemented, like the angled-up connector to prevent cable drag, the extension for the wireless dongle, and an additional set of Teflon skates. In its performance, the be quiet! Dark Perk Ergo and the PixArt PAW3950 performed well. Button clicks were muted but still satisfying to press and tracking was excellent. Better yet, its wireless battery life is stellar, lasting over a month of use at 1000Hz without needing to recharge the mouse. I like the IO Center software utility as it is intuitive and straightforward to use. The manufacturer also gives users a driverless option to modify the mouse through a web interface. In all honesty, it is hard to find a problem here, unless you prefer a more ambidextrous design or want a splash more color, whether in the body or through RGB LED lighting. It would be nice for the Dark Perk Ergo to wake from sleep a bit faster too. I also cannot forget the fact there are still holes at the bottom where foreign materials can come through. At the time of the review, the be quiet! Dark Perk Ergo is priced at $100, which lands it in a comparable price range as the Turtle Beach Burst II Air. It may not be the most wallet-friendly, but given its simple and clean implementation, this manufacturer has delivered well on their first gaming mouse, performing well in all circumstances.
