Cooler Master MasterLiquid PL240 Flux Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Does the MasterLiquid PL240 Flux continue Cooler Master’s solid reputation of quality liquid coolers? To start with, the AIO system is solidly built with a clean 240mm aluminum radiator and tubes to attach to the water block. The braided tubes are flexible and easy to pivot when mounting it inside your case. The copper base of the water block has a reasonably smooth finish. The revised SickleFlow 120 ARGB fans are also solidly built with fan blades that are consistent in design with one of Cooler Master's more recent MF120 Prismatic and SF120M ARGB. The RGB LED lighting is beautiful to look at, both on the new SickleFlow 120 fans and the water block. This is further complemented by the provided ARGB LED controller that provides a variety of lighting effects through the MasterPlus+ software, which is intuitive and easy to use. The lighting controller is also a great option for those who do not have native ARGB LED lighting support on their motherboard. The installation process was simple with no issues at any point. This can be attributed to the clear instructions on the installation manual that guides users with both Intel and AMD installation. The MasterLiquid PL240 Flux excelled in performance, outperforming all the compared coolers including one of Cooler Master’s own MasterLiquid ML240 Illusion. At full speed, the included SickleFlow 120 fans were not the quietest, although not annoyingly loud either. The pump also emitted some audible noise, but at a reasonable level. The sound output was perfectly acceptable when running normally, which is what you can expect on a day-to-day basis. I think this is a fair tradeoff given the excellent performance. I personally think the PL240 Flux strikes a good balance between cooling performance and noise. When it comes to improvements, I would say the MasterLiquid PL240 Flux could benefit from having longer tubes, as the current length is a bit short and may limit mounting options depending on the size of your chassis. Overall, the Cooler Master MasterLiquid PL240 Flux is an excellent all-in-one liquid cooler with vibrant RGB LED lighting. At an MSRP of $190 though, this is a very expensive 240mm AIO liquid cooler, but you can expect solid performance and build quality.
