Cooler Master MasterPulse Pro Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Gaming products are easily recognizable today with fancy RGB lights found in almost everything, and for things that are not illuminated, you will find it in some sort of black and red color scheme. That said, it is important to remember even with the similarities found across gaming products on the market, there is still plenty of work put in for the product to have their own set of unique features. The Cooler Master MasterPulse Pro has the typical gaming look, but there are some extras along the way, such as Bass FX to let the user control -- at least to some extent -- the amount of bass they want by just removing the side panels. There are also different preset profiles for music, movies, and gaming to attempt to add to the usability of this headset. The build quality is top notch with the frame built out of metal and high quality plastic used in the rest of it. Wearing the headphones was comfortable at first, but this may shift over time. The rigid frame could mean the headset clamps down too hard and cause head fatigue, however this will vary from user to user. They can also squeeze too tight around the upper jaw bone just below the ear. The in-line remote is useful as it should be, but it is big and almost always in the way. The controls on the remote also require some clarification. The overall listening experience is poor, falling short in almost every category, whether it be music or gaming. The microphone, despite being nicely hidden and out of sight, does not sound good in practice either. The MSRP is $100 USD, which is far too expensive for what you are getting. There are many better options, such as the HyperX Cloud II in the same price range, that is superior in almost every imaginable way.

The Cooler Master MasterPulse Pro is a very well built headphone with some cool new features, but falls short against the competition in almost every way.
