Cooler Master MS110 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Unlike the Jeep Wrangler or any body-on-frame vehicle, I have used a cheaper keyboard and mouse in the past, especially with the OEM peripherals that came with my first prebuilt desktop. Even so, the Cooler Master MS110 keyboard and mouse combination set is a fine budget pair of peripherals if you are willing to overlook a few things. Starting with the build quality, there is no doubt these are designed with a wallet-friendly mindset, but this is not to say they feel cheap. Both the keyboard and mouse feel better than you might expect for plastic. There may be some creaking or flexing in the keyboard, but that is not too surprising for this market. In terms of ergonomics, the mouse is also a bit on the smaller side of things, which can be good or bad depending on the user. However, Cooler Master has kept the necessary features in their peripherals, whether it is the keyboard with 26 key rollover, RGB lighting, secondary functions, and interchangeable keycaps, or the mouse with lighting and on-the-fly DPI change capabilities. However, the budget differences start appearing in the execution. The keyboard, despite its "Mem-chanical" name, is still very much a membrane keyboard with some mechanical benefits in its linear travel and a rated lifespan. The mouse also showed several deficiencies, especially in games with faster movements. The budget sensor unfortunately could not keep up with tracking, which really is a shame. Cooler Master has said this combination set would release for approximately $60 USD. With this in mind, this pricing strategy still undercuts the prices of many of the keyboards or mice we review here at APH Networks. As such, the Cooler Master MS110 is still a good option for those looking for a set of peripherals, especially for those who are tighter on the wallet.
