Despite all of our bumbling around and running in opposite directions, our team was able to use some big brain plays to land us in first place. To be honest, we got lucky along the way, but I will take the victory. Similarly, the Corsair HS35 Stereo comes to the finish line with some good aspects, but there are a few noticeable struggles in certain areas too. As for the positives, the Corsair HS35 Stereo gets high marks for its good build quality, even in such a budget range. Its plastic build may not impress anyone, but it still feels solid. There are some creaks exhibited while using the HS35, but they are nothing concerning. Best of all, the comfort for the HS35 gaming headset is a positive point. The lighter build and plush padding make wearing these headphones a delight. Furthermore, Corsair still includes the necessary on-the-fly settings like a volume dial or mic mute button. Unfortunately, there were no surprises when it comes to the HS35's audio performance, which performs as you would expect for a budget pair of headphones. All of its ranges displayed one or two deficiencies, and the overall package was good for gaming, but only acceptable for casual music listening. Soundstaging aspects were also average all-around, which is not too surprising at this price range. As we have mentioned already, you can find the HS35 for $40 USD, which is still a pretty low price. However, considering we can also see the higher end HS-series of headsets for the same price at press time, it seems Corsair has slightly cannibalized its sales. If your wallet is really tight, the Corsair HS35 Stereo is still a suitable option as it performs exactly where you would expect an affordable headset should.
