About ATTO Disk Benchmark
The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here; as far as the Silicon Motion SM2258XT is concerned -- well, here are our results. As manufacturer peak read and write performance ratings are usually achieved using ATTO, whether a drive lives up to its marketing claims or not can be validated by this program. Crucial claims the BX500's maximum read and maximum write are pinned at 540MB/s and 500MB/s, respectively. According to our tests, these numbers were underrated. It peaked at 561.841MB/s read and 512.525MB/s write. Under the curve, the BX500's ramp up write speed was a little faster than the BX300 up to 4K and led most of the way in read until 256K. Compared to the UD PRO, the BX500 led up to 8K in both read and write until it was eclipsed by the Gigabyte SSD at 16K and above. The BX500 and UV500 continuously traded punches with each other under the curve, but the UV500 peaked higher in write and the BX500 in read.
