DeepCool AK620 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

When we look at the AK620, I think DeepCool has come back to us with a simple and clean cooler that offers more than you might expect. Starting from the build and design, the AK620 is a nice black and silver cooler with a boxy look to fit into any build. Its profile is similar to other 120mm-based air coolers, which makes it fit into most mid-tower cases without a problem. Clearance issues should not be a concern, as there is sufficient space for most memory kits this fan may hang over. Otherwise, the heatsink is built with quality materials like aluminum and copper and a nickel coating on the bottom for further durability. The two attached fans have fluid dynamic bearings with generally good specifications for static pressure and airflow. As for the installation process, the DeepCool AK620 borrowed a tried-and-true method, which made the whole process very easy. The inclusion of a long screwdriver was both necessary and appreciated, as reaching for the mounting screws would have been tricky otherwise. In terms of performance, the DeepCool AK620 also performed admirably, putting up directly comparable numbers to some of our better performing 120mm based options for both air and liquid coolers. On the other hand, the two fans attached to the AK620 were a bit louder under full load situations, and they emitted a more audible sound during operation. This is probably the one smudge on an otherwise great performing air cooler. According to DeepCool, the AK620 will have an MSRP of $65 USD, which undercuts the competition. All in all, I think we have an excellent dual-tower cooler in the form of the AK620 at a solid price.
