DeepCool LS720 Review

I recently went to a VIP Cineplex to watch the new Thor movie with my friend. While I enjoyed the movie well enough, what stood out to me throughout the whole time was the VIP experience. At this VIP Cineplex, they had a program where viewers could order a variety of foods and eat them in the theater. On top of popcorn, these foods included poutine, burgers, and even cheesecake slices. You can order these foods just before the previews, and there would be waiters and waitresses to take your orders and bring them over during the previews. Each seat had a mini tray that you could put your food on so you could really enjoy it while watching the movie. On top of all that, the theater had reclining seats that could also recline the headrest and heat up, although the latter is not needed for the heat of summer, haha. Now, all of this sounds nice and luxurious, but came at the cost of $25, not including the food. I generally would prefer just a regular admission ticket at $12 with a side of popcorn and a drink to save some cash, but I cannot deny the VIP experience was great. Similarly, a 360mm liquid cooler is not always necessary, as a 240mm liquid cooler can typically do the job just fine. It is still nice to have in the end though, and today we get another 360mm liquid cooler in the form of the DeepCool LS720. Does the LS720 prove that having a longer radiator and another fan will give you extra cooling performance? Let us read on to find out!

Our review unit of the DeepCool LS720 arrived in a medium-sized brown corrugated cardboard shipping box from their headquarters in Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA via UPS Standard. The liquid cooler arrived here in our offices in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in good condition, with no significant scratches or bruises on the shipping box.

The retail box arrived in nearly perfect condition. The front-side retail packaging for the DeepCool LS720 is quite bare with very little text, just like all of DeepCool's retail packages. Like with the AK620, this retail box is simply a cardboard box with a white sleeve covering part of it, which gives it a more natural feel as opposed to other companies that print all over their boxes. Most of the product details are on this white sleeve, so I suspect this could be a cost-saving measure as well so DeepCool can continue using the same box for multiple products. The box is clean and does a good job of displaying the cooler. As mentioned earlier, the box uses the simple natural brown color scheme that does not do much to draw attention to itself with the exception of a single thin green line going across near the bottom. The LS720 label is seen at the top with the text “High Performance 360mm Liquid Cooler” below. I do find it interesting that the name of the cooler has the number "720" in it when this is a 360mm liquid cooler. The DeepCool logo is located towards the bottom right side. An image of the LS720 is displayed front and center of the white sleeve, showing off the general design of the cooler. The back and sides of the box contain some of the specifications.
