Epomaker Shadow-S Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The Epomaker Shadow-S is a solid contender for the TKL layout keyboard. I enjoy this variation of the TKL layout, as the screen is a nice little benefit, while the knob adds a great amount of functionality at the cost of some keys that I never use. The overall build quality is quite rigid despite the plastic construction. The Epomaker Shadow-S's appearance is nice, offering a unique appearance for your desk setup. Given the two different color designs, you may not be able to find exactly what you want, but both options are still attractive. The lighting settings are eye-catching, as they shine around the keycap. The Shadow-S uses VIA, which is absolutely wonderful, as it is a widely used software for many enthusiast keyboards out there. There is also the Epomaker Image Custom Tool, but in my testing, it was not functional. When it comes to typing experience, I was quite pleased. I found the typing experience to be nice and soft due to it being a gasket mounted keyboard. The sound signature was also good, offering a nice deep tone. This sound signature is aided by the foam usage inside of the keyboard. Our particular model came with the Mulan switches, which offered a good typing experience with an acceptable gaming experience. The 2.4GHz connection was seamless, having no issues and being quite responsive. Something I found weird was the knob usage being for toggling between connectivity modes, rather than as a volume knob. At a price of $100 USD at press time, the Epomaker Shadow-S is definitely a good option for anyone seeking out a TKL keyboard with a knob.
