FIFINE AmpliGame AM8 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

After my inspections and tests, I can easily conclude the FIFINE AmpliGame AM8 has been a pleasant surprise for me all-around in both its build and its capabilities. Starting from the beginning, the FIFINE AmpliGame AM8 comes in a clean yet alluring design. A simple and smooth shape is combined with an RGB LED bottom loop, which can be turned off if you want to keep it clean. The knobs and buttons are easily accessible for quick adjustments. At the bottom, we have a 3.5mm audio jack for low-latency monitoring and a USB Type-C input for power and connection to your computer. However, the added treat is an XLR connection, which allows you to use your own audio interface instead of the USB connection. Other physical aspects I appreciate include a sturdy and grippy base, adapted mounting for both standard sizes of mounts, and the inclusion of a wind sock. Internally, we have a dynamic capsule with a cardioid polar pattern. When assessing its performance, I was generally quite pleased with the FIFINE AmpliGame AM8. At its price point, it picked up my voice clearly and cleanly in a natural manner. It was able to reject plosives with its wind screen and reduced background noises. In trickier situations, it was also able to capture instruments and singing, although some limitations were heard. All in all, I was still pleased with the end result. On the other hand, there are some things I wish could have been improved. For one, I wish the mute indicator was integrated into the RGB LED ring at the bottom, so it would be easier to see from all angles. It also should be noted none of these lights or buttons will work when connected via XLR. When we look at the retail pricing, the FIFINE AmpliGame AM8 can be found online for $55, which is a very reasonable price. Given all it can do and its potential for upgrades down the road, the FIFINE AmpliGame AM8 is an accessible starting place for those looking to dive into the microphone game.
