After seeing what the Fnatic Gear Clutch G1 is capable of, I am quite happy with the end result. Taking the looks of the Func MS-2 and combining it with the improvements from the Fnatic Gear Flick G1, the Clutch G1 is born into a pretty stable and solid position. From the get-go, we have a well-known but functionally capable design, with an easy to hold body for average sized hands. Its grippy yet soft texture is a joy to use, even if it can attract oily fingerprints. As for performance, the mouse does an excellent job tracking in all sorts of games. It may not be a master of any specific genre, but it definitely is a jack of all trades mouse. Whether in first person shooters or MOBAs, the Clutch G1 is a reliable and steady rodent. The Pixart 3310 underneath is a very capable sensor for all sorts of play or work. Unfortunately, there are still a few concerns in my mind. First of all is the build quality. While it feels good in the hand, signs like the scroll wheel wiggle and the sensor rattle at a tad disconcerting. It did not affect tracking performance, but it definitely still can be fixed. Thankfully, Fnatic is looking into this issue, so it should not affect the retail batch. Secondly, like the Flick G1, the software could still be better to allow the adjustment of lift off distance. Finally for a feature request, with a name like Fnatic, I think they could get some sort of gaming integration with their products, whether it be button profiles or lighting alerts for various games. At a retail price on Fnatic's own store of $60 USD, it is priced fairly, but not necessarily competitively. The Fnatic Gear Clutch G1 therefore is a solid all-around performer, and just a few tweaks would change it from good to great.
