Page 4 - Conclusion
The GAMDIAS Pheme M1 is a nice microphone with a relatively small footprint that will fit into most setups. The appearance itself is quite standard to many other black condenser microphones that utilize a grille design. The build is mainly plastic, but does have decent build quality, as it is firm for the most part. The tap controls were simple to navigate between the two modes and mute. Gain control was very accessible and simple, being a knob on the front. The back of the Pheme M1 offers decent audio monitoring control. GAMDIAS offers the option to use a third-party arm, as the bottom of the Pheme M1 uses a 5/8” mounting thread. When it comes to actual testing, the Pheme M1 performed quite well, offering quite natural recording performances with electronic noise canceling off. With electronic noise canceling on, background noise blocking was good, but voices became a little more muffled and it made it sounded like I was varying between moving closer and further away despite not moving at all. When not using ENC mode, the Pheme M1 did pick up on a lot of background noise despite the super-cardioid polar pattern. Your voice will still take precedence over the background noise, but the noise is quite apparent. ENC is a place the Pheme M1 can grow, as it is a feature that would be really beneficial given background noise is a struggling point of this microphone. Last thing to note is the GAMDIAS Pheme M1 could be prone to falling over when freestanding. At a price of $50 USD, this is definitely a good option if you are using this mic for general voice calls, but you may want to consider other microphones if background noise is an issue.

The GAMDIAS Pheme M1 is a great low-cost microphone that can capture voices naturally for calling your friends or for work meetings, but can also pick up a bit too much background noise despite the super-cardioid polar pattern.
