BAPCo's SYSMark 2012 is one of our favorite computer performance evaluation benchmarking suites, because it uses real life applications to obtain real life results. From Photoshop to Microsoft Office, it has all of them covered. It is actually quite interesting to watch, too -- as you witness programs open and close by themselves, the tests automatically in the foreground. The 2012 version utilizes updated programs since 2007, and now offers a more refined set of results. We did triple iteration on both motherboards (These 8 hour tests are long!), and with many watts of electricity consumed, the results are as above. Since we have done so many runs with consistent results, we can safely say that the Gigabyte motherboard consistently outperformed its Intel counterpart by a small margin across the board, again, probably due to some minute out of the box CPU overclocking.
