In many ways, the HYTE FA12 is a standard set of fans that offer all the modern conveniences you may expect. This includes a sturdy ABS plastic frame and impeller. Its blade characteristics are normal for a case fan with smooth sickle-like blades that move air well. Its mounting points are lined with rubber to damp vibrations and its braided cable with a PWM header is nice to see. The internal fluid dynamic bearings should result in quiet operation and long lifespan. When it comes to our actual performance results, the HYTE FA12 performs admirably for a case fan. It could move air through an open and more obstructed output, proving it can be used for either situation without too much concern. In addition, while it does produce some noise during operation, its lower frequency output makes it blend into the background. The real thing that makes the FA12 stand apart is its bright and many color options. It may be lacking LED lighting, but it makes up for it with its colors that match HYTE's own cases. This may be a specific benefit only for those who have a HYTE case, but I still appreciate all the colorways HYTE gave with their fans. At the time of the review, the set of four fans is available for $40 for black and white, and $50 for their other colors. Given its solid performance and eye-catching colors, the HYTE FA12 are a perfectly acceptable option for those looking to appease their color desires while providing adequate cooling.
