About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so SandForce based SSDs and similar will perform very well here; as far as the Phison PS3110-S10 is concerned -- well, here are our results. As manufacturer peak read and write performance ratings are usually obtained using ATTO, whether a drive lives up to its marketing claims or not can be validated by this program. Kingston claims the HyperX Savage 240GB's maximum read and maximum write are pinned at 560MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively. According to our tests, these numbers were slightly underrated. It peaked at 565.789MB/s read and 547.827MB/s write. Under the curve, it was very similar to the Patriot Ignite 480GB with the same drive controller. However, due to differences in flash memory chips used, there was some variance between these drives near the middle of the chart. The Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB's ramp up was quite a bit better than the ARC 100, BX100, and MX200 in the read category, although the Ultra II still remains to be the king. As for as write is concerned, the HyperX Savage's initial ramp up was not as fast as drives based on other controllers, but it quickly caught up in 8K and above.
