A couple of nights ago, I was helping my brother cook. He left me the job of making a sauce to mix into our bean sprouts. As many Asians do, I did not measure a single thing and was unsure about the ratios. I cooked the bean sprouts and mixed it all together and surprisingly, it did not taste that bad. The sauce may have not looked right at all, but it actually tasted like what we were going for. At the end of the day, the look of the food does not matter compare to the taste; much like how the looks of a fan do not matter as much as the performance. SilverStone’s Air Penetrator AP120i PRO may be understated in looks if you consider it does not have RGB and color, but its raw performance is far from understated. The all-black design is something I can see people looking for as there is still a market for people who do not want to deal with RGB. For these people, I highly recommend taking a look at the Air Penetrator AP120i PRO. The fan is super simple to set up with only a single 4-pin connector that plugs right into your motherboard. There is no hassle in managing RGB, which I have learned to greatly appreciate over this past week, as RGB cable management can become painful. Moving on to what is actually important, the Air Penetrator AP120i PRO has amazing performance. I was surprised when testing to see how much air this fan could push. There is no other word to explain the performance of this fan but “incredible”. I believe in SilverStone’s claim of this fan being an industry leading 120mm PWM fan. The one issue about this fan is that the noise generated from full load does get noisy. The sound is bearable, but could be quieter. At the end of the day, the Air Penetrator AP120i PRO knows its job and does it well. It does not try to accomplish more than what a fan is supposed to do, it just focuses on maximizing airflow. Currently, the SilverStone Air Penetrator AP120i PRO sells for $20 USD. This is a reasonable price. If you are looking for performance without the show, the SilverStone Air Penetrator AP120i PRO is definitely a great buy.
