SoundPEATS Q40 HD Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

When it comes to the SoundPEATS Q40 HD, its features and additions may not stand out, but they do align with its purpose of providing music for movers. Its tethered cable and included clips ensure it stays in place while in motion. This is combined with multiple ear wings and ear tips that keep the Q40 HD securely in the user's ears. Better yet, its tactile buttons and IP67 rating ensure the elements will not cause problems. When you do not have the earphones in your ears, they rest on your neck and stick together with magnets. Internally, SoundPEATS has paired the Q40 HD with Bluetooth 5.4 and AAC and LDAC audio codec support. In use, the Q40 HD gets remarkably close to its quoted 20-hour battery life and quickly recharges as expected. The wireless range is also readily sufficient. As for audio testing, the results are a bit more mixed. Those who prefer a bass-forward sound will appreciate the Q40 HD, but I found the other two regions a bit more veiled. The Q40 HD leaned towards a darker sound while also struggling to produce a wide soundstage. Its microphone recording was overall solid and picked up my voice clearly, even when there were other external noises. Otherwise, there are some things to keep in mind, such as the lack of active noise cancellation and small surface scratches that easily appear on the outer ears due to the magnetic attachment. At the time of the review, the SoundPEATS Q40 HD retails for $50, which is reasonable for everything you get. Its sound quality may not wow everyone, but if you need something for your workout sessions that stay in place and keep you motivated, the SoundPEATS Q40 HD are worth considering.
