Thermaltake CT120 EX ARGB Sync Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

After assessing these fans, does the Thermaltake CT120 EX ARGB Sync leave a positive impression? To start, the fan is indeed solidly built with a smooth hydraulic bearing. The black color scheme does not reinvent the wheel, but looks polished and clean, especially in contrast to the frosted look of the fan blades. The rubber dampening pads around each mounting hole are nice to have for vibration reduction. The magnetic headers are straightforward and intuitive, although reading the manual for assurance is also encouraged. I appreciate this magnetic daisy-chaining design, as it reduces the numbers of cables in your system greatly, especially if you are looking to set up a PC with many case fans. The CT120 EX ARGB Sync performed quite well in our tests, with the impressive maximum airflow and static air pressure numbers translating well into practice. The noise output was also decently quiet at maximum speed. The RGB LED lighting is a nice visual touch that looks great when the fan is operating thanks to the nine addressable RGB LEDs placed around the central fan hub. When it comes to improvements, I think the cable lengths could be shorter. At a measured 143cm in length, I think this leans towards the long side and users may need to tidy the excess cables. For about $60 for a set of three fans at the time of writing this review, the Thermaltake CT120 EX ARGB Sync represents a solid deal for the build quality, lighting, good performance, and easy configurability.
