Featuring the PixArt PAW3950-based Owl-Eye 30K and up to 150-hour battery life at the expense an extra 10g on the scale compared to the Burst II Air, did the Turtle Beach Burst II Pro hit the optimal tradeoff point? I believe so. The Owl-Eye 30K-equipped Burst II Pro has impressive specifications -- delivering a massive 30,000 DPI tracking resolution, best-in-class 8000Hz polling rate, and a very low 0.7mm lift-off distance. The bigger battery also solves the Burst II Air's relatively short 40-hour battery life at 1000Hz by 2025 standards, with a rated battery life of 150 hours at 1000Hz and 40 hours at 8000Hz. The total weight increased by 10g to 57g, which is still very light. The shape remains familiar and comfortable with its ambidextrous design, and the non-porous shell is functional and feels good. Turtle Beach’s pre-tensioned Titan Optical switches provide crisp and responsive clicks, with wireless 2.4GHz interface delivering lag-free performance. If you ever need to go wired to charge, the PhantomFlex cable feels smooth and flexible. I still prefer a true paracord cable, even if you rarely need it. Furthermore, there are a few minor areas for refinement. The cutouts on the bottom for weight savings can also accumulate dust, and while Swarm II is a clear step forward from its predecessor, it still has some usability quirks that could use polishing. The lack of RGB LED lighting may disappoint some users, but it is a reasonable tradeoff given the light weight. For about $140 USD at press time, the Turtle Beach Burst II Pro commands a 40% premium over the Air version, but it is a worthy lightweight mouse packing a truly awesome sensor and great battery life.
