Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4- Conclusion

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 can be seen as a step up from the Stealth 600 Gen 2 and there are some notable features to support this view. In terms of similarities, we can see these are both console headsets with wireless capabilities. However, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 is physically a beefier headset. The steel-enforced headband is matched with plushier earcups and headband for a stronger build and comfortable fit. The Aerofit gel is also a cool addition, both literally and figuratively. Other comfort additions include the ProSpecs adjustment tabs and tilting ears for a better fit. In addition, we have a longer lasting battery life that was easily able to hit thirty hours in our testing. Functionally, the layout of the buttons is quite similar, but I like the addition of Bluetooth connectivity for simultaneous listening to both your mobile device and your console. The Turtle Beach Audio Hub app is simple and straightforward, enabling users to make more changes on the fly. When we look at the sound quality from the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2, the overall sound signature is the typical V-shaped sound that most users will like. However, the details are where things could have been polished up, especially when it comes to layering. This should not be as much of a hindrance in games, but it was noticeable in music. The soundstaging was also a bit narrower than I would have liked. The attached microphone will do in a jiffy for communication, but I would have liked to also see improvements made here for a more natural capture. Overall, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is a step above the Stealth 600 Gen 2 in both price and features, as this headset retails for $150 USD. While it is a notable price delta, I still think the features we see here make the increase justified. As such, with the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2, you are getting a strong wireless gaming experience with easy on-the-fly adjustments to keep you gaming more and fiddling less.
