Page 4 - Conclusion
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 is an excellent addition to the Turtle Beach Stealth lineup. It represents a step up from the Stealth 600 Gen 3 and serves as a worthy successor to the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX. The Stealth 700 Gen 3 boasts an 80-hour battery life, which you are likely to hit according to my tests, but of course, your mileage may vary. Wireless connectivity options are great, featuring two dedicated 2.4GHz transmitters that can be allocated to a console and PC, while also supporting a simultaneous Bluetooth connection. The build quality is solid, with steel-reinforced parts and excellent fit and finish. Despite its chunky size, the headset’s refined styling, coupled with tasteful colored accents, lends it to a premium look and feel. Comfort is another highlight, making it suitable for extended use. The adjustable headband accommodates larger head sizes, while the glasses-friendly ear cups are plush and swivel to ensure a perfect fit. The two 60mm Eclipse dual drivers offer great sound reproduction. In our listening tests, the low range was punchy, the midrange was rich and thick, and the trebles were crisp. The warm, V-shaped tuning provided an easy listening experience with ample detail and minimal fatigue. Despite its closed-back design, the soundstage was larger than expected with accurate imaging that enhances both music and gaming experiences. Footsteps and sound positioning in games were clear. However, the microphone is a notable drawback. It sounded compressed and lacked resolution. While it is sufficient for basic communication, it is not ideal for streaming or recording tasks. Lastly, it tipped my scale at a rather porky 408g, so a reduction in weight is desirable. The Stealth 700 Gen 3 justifies its premium price tag with its quality and features at a retail price of $200 USD. Overall, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 is a comfortable, multi-platform headset with exceptional battery life and enjoyable sound quality.
