About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. By varying the file transfer size, you can visually see how each product performs across the curve. In the Read section, the Western Digital Red WD60EFRX 6TB was quite comparable to the 4TB model. Its ramp up was not bad, but it was it did not have anything to write home about. On the other hand, it pulled higher peak rates than its smaller brother. This came in at 201.075MB/s, which was better than the WD40EFRX at 174.308MB/s -- and impressively, even the WD Red Pro 4TB at 194.049MB/s. In the Write section, its initial ramp up was almost twice as fast as the WD40EFRX, which blew me away. With a top write speed of 189.196MB/s, this, again, was better than the WD Red Pro 4TB. Meanwhile, the WD Red Pro 6TB peaked at 265.777MB/s, but that is a whole different class of drives.
