As usual, our first test that comes along in our standard benchmark set is FEAR. All settings were set to maximum and the only manipulated variables were AA and AF. 1680x1050 widescreen resolution is used to put more emphasis on the graphics card and less on the rest of the system. Soft Shadows were turned on; which is one of the more video card taxing settings in this game. The Gigabyte 9800GT performed well within expectations; at stock clocks of 600/900 it is is consistently slightly lower than the factory overclocked 8800GTs.
