From X-bit Labs: ATI, graphics business unit of Advanced Micro Devices, is making its best to ensure the highest possible supply of the latest ATI Radeon HD 5700- and 5800-series. But Chris Hook, a representative for AMD, claims that limited supplies of high-end and mainstream DirectX 11 graphics cards is something that is about to end. “What is important is that we have shipped hundreds of thousands of ATI Radeon 5000-series so far. The supply is going to open up quite a bit further in December. We are a couple weeks away from an improvement in supply. It has been a little bit slow in November, but you are going to see an improvement in supply in December,” said Chris Hook, a spokesperson for AMD and a former one to speak to ATI Technologies. At the moment, availability of ATI Radeon HD 5800- and 5700-series is rather scarce which is quite obvious, considering the fact that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) has yield issues. Nevertheless, things are going to improve, according to Mr. Hook during the next weeks. View: Article @ Source Site |
